8 Dos and Don’ts for the Broad Street Run

DO: Train. While this may seem like a no-brainer, a lot of people try to go directly from the couch to a 5K (or a 10-miler) and it typically doesn’t go well.

DON’T: Go out and party the night before the big race.
(Pro tip: save it for after the race.)

DON’T: Oversleep… the Broad Street Run starts at 8 am, right outside of Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia.

DO: Remember your shoes!

DON’T: Eat rich, heavy pasta like gnocchi, if you’re going to carbo-load.

DO: Make sure you stretch (duh!)

DON’T: Use the local neighborhood as a bathroom. It’s important to empty your bladder before the race, but make sure you do it in a designated restroom.

DO: Have a pre- and post-race plan. When you Join #TeamEinstein for the Broad Street Run, you get access to parking, restrooms, a t-shirt and more! Plus, you can plan to meet your friends at the Einstein balloon at the finish line.
