Do You Know How Much Caffeine You’re Drinking?
According to the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines, moderate consumption of caffeine—up to 400 mg per day—can be incorporated into a healthy eating plan. That’s about the amount in three to five 8-oz. cups of coffee. This amount of caffeine has not been linked to an increased risk of disease or early death, but if you don’t already consume caffeine, you’re not encouraged to start.
Caffeine is widely used in beverages and food but amounts are not listed on nutrition labels. This list shows how much caffeine some of your favorite beverages contain.
